I love painting pregnant bellies!!
Everyone I know who has had it done loves it too!
If it’s something you’ve never heard of or considered before you might wonder why on earth someone would want their belly painted, it washes off when you shower so what’s the point?
It’s a wonderful thing to have done for so many reasons and not one of my mums-to-be has ever regretted it.
It’s relaxing, it’s a lovely experience, the feather light brush strokes feel soothing on the skin, a belly paint takes around 2 hours to do, I will come to your home and you sit in your favourite chair and enjoy a chat and a giggle while I paint, or zone out and have a little snooze, either is fine with me! Some mums like to have family and friends pop in to keep them company which makes for a fun couple of hours for all of us. It can be a challenge for some, sitting still for a couple of hours late in pregnancy so I always allow plenty of time for breaks if needed.
It’s a unique way to commemorate your pregnancy, the paint itself is temporary, but your photo lasts forever. You can choose your design based on the theme of your nursery, then print and frame your photo for the baby’s bedroom wall, the photos are a lovely addition to your baby’s keepsake box and children love looking back at the photos of their painted bump.
It’s just for you, you can have as much or as little input into the design painted as you wish, some mums have lots of ideas which I can combine into one bump paint, others are completely undecided or may just give me a colour scheme or a vague theme to work with.
It makes for a great facebook photo! Likes and comments go through the roof when you post photos of your painted bump!
It washes off easily with soap and water, one mum I painted recently loved it so much she left it on overnight so that she could visit friends the next day to show it off! I was surprised at how well it lasted! I protected the design with a fixative spray and Mum slept with a tight vest top on which minimised rubbing the design off.
Before…
After a nights sleep….
This design was chosen by the baby’s big sister who loves Tinkerbell.
Paints used are professional quality body paints, safe for baby and for mum. Bump paintings usually cost £40 and I cover the Bristol area, the ideal time for bump painting is 32-36 weeks or when your bump is nice and round.
Have your bump painted – you won’t regret it!!
